About Us

The Riverbank Art Centre has been established since February 2001 and is run by husband and wife team Michael and Gill Punter. We purchased the derelict shop which was once a bakery but had been empty for four years and started to run art lessons from the back room with a coffee shop from the front area, along with selling a number of quality secondhand items for the local community.

It became apparent very quickly that the art tuition side of the business was very popular and therefore we stopped the selling of the secondhand goods and started to stock art materials for the students and customers. The waiting lists for art tuition began to grow at a fantastic rate and a decision to remove the coffee shop in favour of increasing the capacity of the classes was made and we have not looked back since.

in addition to art tuition we offer a bespoke framing service, We sell a wide array of original artwork. Why not visit our Gallery?

We have Jewellery making classes taken by out daughter Amy – more information can be found on her website woodlands art and crafts.
